About the Wasaga Society for the Arts
The Society’s Purpose
The Wasaga Society for the Arts is a registered Canadian charity incorporated on October 26, 2015.
The Society’s purpose is to advance the public’s appreciation of the arts by producing public art exhibitions, presentations and performance arts events, and by providing a forum for artists to exhibit, present or perform their artistic works through participation in such events.
Stonebridge Art Gallery
Stonebridge Art Gallery, Wasaga Beach’s first and only community-operated art gallery, is managed by the Wasaga Society for the Arts.
The Gallery is located in the Stonebridge Town Centre plaza at 1 Market Lane (Suite #8), Wasaga Beach, Ontario. Lisa Harpell is the curator.
Space for the Gallery is generously donated by Mark Crowe at Hanmount Investments Ltd.
The WSA recognizes and acknowledges the social and economic benefits derived through creativity and contributes to the growth and expansion of a culture-driven creative economy.
WSA is a membership-based organization supporting artistic and creative organizations, groups and individuals.
Benefits to the Community
The objectives and programmes of the WSA provide an opportunity for individuals, corporate entities, benevolent organizations and foundations to support social development through the arts and to contribute, directly and indirectly, to the growth of a viable creative economy.
